Investing in research and development (R&D) activities greatly impacts the assessment of the company’s finances and performance, which is why the issue of the accounting treatment of these costs is so important. The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between investment in R&D activities and the profitability of pharmaceutical companies, i.e., to see whether R&D activities can affect the financial position and performance of 30 pharmaceutical companies in the period from 2010 to 2020. The obtained results show that investing in R&D activities has a positive effect on net income, earnings before interest and taxes, and earnings per share (EPS).Downloads
